Eligibility Criteria
Age Limit (as of the last date of application): Less than 65 years
Educational Qualification & Experience:
Candidate must be a retired or serving officer (other than Punjab National Bank/erstwhile OBC/erstwhile UNI and related parties) in the rank equivalent to General Manager of another Bank, Financial Sector Regulatory Body, NBFC, or Credit Information Company (CIC).
Must have minimum seven years of experience in banking, non-banking finance, regulation, supervision, payment & settlement systems, credit information, or consumer protection.
Candidate must not have been previously employed by PNB or its related parties.
Terms of Engagement
Contract Period: The appointment will be for a fixed term of three years, without any extension or reappointment.
Salary & Benefits:
Fixed monthly salary of ₹1.75 lakh (subject to tax deductions).
Reimbursement of telephone/mobile expenses as per TEG Scale VII (General Manager level).
Provision for bank’s car & driver and TA/DA for outstation duty as per General Manager level benefits.
Not eligible for Dearness Allowance (DA), staff loans, medical benefits, pension, leave encashment, entertainment allowance, insurance, or other staff benefits.
All applicable taxes and statutory liabilities will be borne by the candidate.
Leave Policy:
Eligible for 12 days of leave per year, with a maximum of 4 days leave at a time.
Leaves cannot be carried forward or encashed.
Working hours will be as per normal banking hours, except on 2nd and 4th Saturdays and declared holidays.
Roles & Responsibilities
The Internal Ombudsman (IO) will work as per the RBI Master Direction – Internal Ombudsman for Regulated Entities (2023).
The IO will report directly to the Executive Director (In-Charge of Customer Service) of PNB.
Responsible for strengthening the Internal Grievance Redressal System to minimize complaints escalating to the RBI Ombudsman.
Ensuring a fair and efficient resolution of customer grievances and reviewing rejected complaints before final decisions.
