Jamia Millia Islamia – Faculty Recruitment Notice
Jamia Millia Islamia, a Central University with NAAC Accredited Grade “A++” located in Jamia Nagar, New Delhi, invites online applications from Indian Nationals (including OCI cardholders) for various teaching positions. The recruitment process is being conducted through the CU-Chayan portal. Applicants must complete their online application from 10 February 2025 and ensure that the hard copy of the filled application form is submitted by 17 March 2025. Failure to submit the hard copy by this deadline may result in the candidate being disqualified.
Positions Available in the Faculty of Humanities & Languages
1. One Professor for the Department of Hindi
• Eligibility: An eminent scholar with a Ph.D. in the concerned/allied/relevant discipline. The candidate should have published at least 10 research papers in peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals and possess a total research score of 120 as per Appendix II, Table 2. A minimum of ten years of teaching or research experience at a university/college or national-level institution is required, along with a proven record of guiding doctoral candidates. Alternatively, an outstanding professional with a Ph.D. and at least ten years of relevant experience may also be considered.
2. One Professor for the Department of English
• Eligibility: Similar to the Hindi post, the candidate must hold a Ph.D. in the relevant field, have a strong publication record with at least 10 research papers, and a total research score of 120. Ten years of teaching or research experience is essential, along with successful doctoral guidance. Outstanding professionals with significant contributions in the field will also be considered.
3. One Professor for the Department of Foreign Languages
• Eligibility: The candidate should possess a Ph.D. in the concerned/allied/applied discipline along with a strong research record as described above. Desirable specialization includes a Master’s degree in French, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, or Latin American Studies, along with experience in curriculum development, translation studies, literary and cultural studies, or interdisciplinary research programmes.
4. One Professor (German) for the Department of Foreign Languages
• Eligibility: An eminent scholar with a Ph.D. in German Studies and a publication record of at least 10 peer-reviewed or UGC-listed papers with a research score of 120. A minimum of ten years of experience in teaching or research is required.
5. One Associate Professor for the Department of Hindi
• Eligibility: A candidate with a strong academic record, holding a Ph.D. in the relevant field and a Master’s degree with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade). A minimum of eight years of teaching and/or research experience (equivalent to an Assistant Professor level) and at least seven publications in peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals with a total research score of 75 are required.
6. One Associate Professor for the Department of English
• Eligibility: As above, the candidate must have a Ph.D. in the concerned field, a Master’s degree with at least 55% marks, and a minimum of eight years of relevant teaching/research experience with at least seven publications and a research score of 75.
7. One Associate Professor (Korean) for the Department of Foreign Languages
• Eligibility: A candidate with a Ph.D. in the relevant discipline, a Master’s degree in Korean Language & Literature or Korean Language & Linguistics with at least 55% marks, and a minimum of eight years of teaching/research experience with at least seven publications and a research score of 75.
8. One Associate Professor (Japanese) for the Department of Foreign Languages
• Eligibility: A candidate with a Ph.D. in the relevant field, a Master’s degree in Japanese Language & Literature or Japanese Language & Linguistics with at least 55% marks, and a minimum of eight years of teaching/research experience with at least seven publications and a research score of 75.
