Subject:- Engagement of candidates as Assistant Professors/Assistant Lecturers on Academic
Arrangement (AA) on need basis in Government College of Engineering & Technology, Jammu for the
session 2023-24.
ADVERTISEMENT NOTICE
*** Applications are invited from the eligible candidates for engagement as Assistant Professors/Assistant
Lecturers on Academic Arrangement (AA) on need basis in Government College of Engineering & Technology,
Jammu, for the academic session 2023-24 in the following Streams/Disciplines:-

  1. E&C Engineering
  2. Computer Engineering
  3. Mechanical Engineering
  4. Civil Engineering
  5. Electrical Engineering
  6. Training and Placement (T &P)
  7. Mathematics
  8. Physics
  9. Humanities
    Eligibility conditions for various categories:-
    a) Assistant Professors (AA): Engineering
    The candidates must possess B.E/B.Tech and Master’s degree in relevant branch with first class or equivalent
    either in B.E/B.Tech or Master’s Degree.
    Desirable: Ph.D in the concerned subject.
    b) Assistant Professor (AA): T&P
    The candidate must possess BE/B.Tech and MBA with specialization in HR/ Marketing with first class either in
    B.E/ B.Tech or MBA.
    Desirable: Minimum two year’s experience as Training & Placement Officer / Liaison Officer in any Private /
    Govt. organization. However, preference shall be given to a candidate having experience in Human Resource
    Management / Personnel Management in reputed industries.
    c) Assistant Professors (AA): ( Physics, Mathematics and Humanities-Management)
    The candidates must possess Masters degree in the relevant subject or its equivalent degree in a grade point
    scale wherever grading system is followed, duly certified/notified by the concerned university, in the relevant
    subject with minimum 55% marks (50% in case of SC / ST / differently abled) along with NET/SLET/SET conducted by the UGC /CSIR/Association of University (AIU) or Ph.D in the relevant subject.
    d) Assistant Lecturers (AA): (Physics, Mathematics and Humanities Management)
    The candidates must possess Master’s degree in the relevant subject or its equivalent degree in a grade point
    scale wherever grading system Is followed, duly certified/notified by the concerned university, in the relevant
    subject with minimum 55% marks (50% in case of SC / ST / differently abled).
    Selection Process
    The Principal, Govt. College of Engineering and Technology, Jammu shall arrange and conduct a
    written/screening test for all the eligible candidates, if required, However, the candidates with
    NET/SLET/SET/Ph.D are exempted from written/screening test. The selection of the candidates shall be made
    by the Selection Committee strictly on the basis of Merit list to be prepared. The applicants are advised to keep
    in touch with the office of the Registrar, GCET, Jammu, for further information,
    Selection Criteria
    The selection criteria for Non-Engineering Streams will be as per the Govt. Order No. 46-1K(HE) of 2022 dated
    28.02.2022.
    The selection criteria for En ineerin Streams will be as er the followin breakup:-
    *Only awards/reorganizations that are relevant to teaching/specialization/research will be considered. In
    awards category maximum marks 2.
    Terms and conditions:-
    The engagement of candidates shall be made as per the Govt. Order No. 46-1K(HE) of 2022 dated 28.02.2022
    and amendment, if any issued thereof:-
    A. The candidate engaged on academic arrangements must be a domicile of Jammu & Kashmir ( U.T).
    B. The engagement of candidate will be made for one Academic Session or till the post is filled by appointment
    of candidate duly selected by the J&K Public Service Commission or by posting of regular faculty against the
    post occupied by an Academic Arrangement candidate whichever is earlier.
    C. The candidate engaged on Academic Arrangement shall have to:-
    i. Maintain proper discipline, integrity and good moral character during the period of engagement and not act
    in a manner of unbecoming of a Govt. Servant. Any indiscipline shall make the candidate liable for disengagement.
    ii. Maintain punctuality and work up to the satisfaction of the standards set up by the Principal and various performance indices.
    iii. Produce a certificate of good moral character from a Gazetted Officer.
    iv. The engagement made under the guidelines shall be deemed to have been terminated on the last date of
    academic session without any notice on this behalf.
    v. Furnish an Affidavit on a Non judicial stamp paper of Rs. 20/- duly attested by l’Class Judicial Magistrate to
    the effect that he/she has accepted the terms and conditions as detailed in this notification and shall have no
    preferential claim for regular appointment or for regularization of the academic arrangement.
    vi. In the event of any information being found false, incomplete, incorrect, forged, tampered, the candidature
    of the applicant will be cancelled without any notice thereof. Further, misleading information shall also warrant
    necessary legal action.
    vii. The candidate having marks in CGPA shall provide a conversion certificate (from CGPA to percentage) from
    the concerned university.
    viii. The engagement of the candidates shall be subject to outcome of the Court cases if any on the subject
    pending disposal in any Court of Law.
    ix. The remuneration shall be paid as per the Govt. Order in vogue.
    The application downloaded from the college website www.gcejammu.org.in complete in all respects shall be
    submitted in the office of Principal Govt. College of Engineering & Technology, Chak Bhalwal Jammu on or
    before 04.10.2023 personally or through registered / speed post along with a copy of the bank receipt of
    Rs.200/- (Rupees Two Hundred only) having been deposited in the account of Principal, Govt. College of
    Engineering and Technology, Chak Bhalwal, Jammu in A/C No. 1250040100002780 (IFSC Code
    JAKA0MISHRI), J&K Bank Mishriwala, Jammu.
