VACANCY FOR THE POST OF HEADMASTER/HEADMISTRESS (REGULAR)

The School Management Committee of Air Force School Srinagar invites applications from eligible candidates for the regular post of Headmaster/Headmistress. Mandatory Qualifications:

a) Academic Qualification:

• Graduate degree with a minimum of 50% aggregate from a University recognized by the Govt. of India/UGC/AICTE.
• The degree must be in one of the subjects taught in Middle/Primary classes at Air Force School.
• Candidates with a graduate degree in other subjects are not eligible, unless they hold a Master’s degree in a subject taught at the school.

b) Professional Qualification:

• Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) or its equivalent from a College/University recognized by the Govt. of India/AICTE/UGC/National Council of Teacher Education.

c) Experience:

• At least 2 years of teaching experience as PGT/TGT/PRT OR
• At least 3 years of experience as NTT OR
• At least 2 years of experience as Principal/HM in an Air Force School.

Age Criteria:

• Candidates must be between 25 to 50 years as of 01 July 2025.
• Age Relaxation:
• Serving staff of Air Force Schools: No upper age limit, but must have at least 2 years of residual service as of 01 July 2025.
• Women and physically challenged candidates: Up to 5 years relaxation.
• Ex-servicemen: Deduction of service period (minimum 6 months) from actual age. If the resultant age exceeds the maximum limit by up to 3 years, they are deemed eligible.
• Candidates with 2 years of continuous service as PGT/TGT or 3 years as PRT/NTT in any Air Force School (but not currently working in one) will receive age relaxation for the duration of their service.

Language Requirement:

• Must be able to read, write, and communicate fluently in English.

Desirable Qualifications:

1. Knowledge of computer applications, especially MS Office.
2. Familiarity with the POCSO Act, CBSE rules, and NCERT guidelines.
3. Participation in educational workshops.
4. Ability to read, write, and communicate in Hindi.
5. CTET/STET qualified candidates will receive additional weightage.
