Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), Kakryal, Katra, invites applications for the position of Guest Faculty (Assistant Professor) on a temporary and contractual basis in the School of Philosophy & Culture.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must meet one of the following qualifications (A or B):

A. Minimum Qualifications
1. Master’s Degree:
• A Master’s degree with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade) in a relevant/allied subject from an Indian or accredited foreign university.
2. Additional Requirements:
• Candidates must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by UGC/CSIR or a similar accredited test (like SLET/SET), or
• Hold a Ph.D. degree as per UGC (2009/2016) guidelines, exempting them from NET/SLET/SET, provided they meet the following conditions:
• Ph.D. awarded in regular mode.
• Thesis evaluated by at least two external examiners.
• Open Ph.D. viva voce conducted.
• Two research papers published (at least one in a refereed journal).
• Two conference/seminar papers presented based on Ph.D. work.

B. Foreign Ph.D. Qualification
• Ph.D. obtained from a foreign university ranked among the top 500 in the World University Rankings by:
• Quacquarelli Symonds (QS)
• Times Higher Education (THE)
• Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU)
