VACANCY FOR THE POST OF HEADMASTER/HEADMISTRESS (REGULAR)
The School Management Committee of Air Force School Srinagar invites applications from eligible candidates for the regular post of Headmaster/Headmistress. Mandatory Qualifications:
a) Academic Qualification:
- Graduate degree with a minimum of 50% aggregate from a University recognized by the Govt. of India/UGC/AICTE.
- The degree must be in one of the subjects taught in Middle/Primary classes at Air Force School.
- Candidates with a graduate degree in other subjects are not eligible, unless they hold a Master’s degree in a subject taught at the school.
b) Professional Qualification:
- Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) or its equivalent from a College/University recognized by the Govt. of India/AICTE/UGC/National Council of Teacher Education.
c) Experience:
- At least 2 years of teaching experience as PGT/TGT/PRT OR
- At least 3 years of experience as NTT OR
- At least 2 years of experience as Principal/HM in an Air Force School.
Age Criteria:
- Candidates must be between 25 to 50 years as of 01 July 2025.
- Age Relaxation:
- Serving staff of Air Force Schools: No upper age limit, but must have at least 2 years of residual service as of 01 July 2025.
- Women and physically challenged candidates: Up to 5 years relaxation.
- Ex-servicemen: Deduction of service period (minimum 6 months) from actual age. If the resultant age exceeds the maximum limit by up to 3 years, they are deemed eligible.
- Candidates with 2 years of continuous service as PGT/TGT or 3 years as PRT/NTT in any Air Force School (but not currently working in one) will receive age relaxation for the duration of their service.
Language Requirement:
- Must be able to read, write, and communicate fluently in English.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Knowledge of computer applications, especially MS Office.
- Familiarity with the POCSO Act, CBSE rules, and NCERT guidelines.
- Participation in educational workshops.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in Hindi.
- CTET/STET qualified candidates will receive additional weightage.
