Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) invites applications for the post of Accounts Officer (General Central Service, Group ‘B’, Gazetted, Non-Ministerial) in Level-9 of the Pay Matrix on Deputation (Including Short Term Contract) basis.

Eligibility Criteria

  1. Deputation (Including Short Term Contract):
  • Officers of Central Government/State Governments/Union territories/Universities/recognized research institutes/public sector undertakings/statutory or autonomous organizations.
  • Holding analogous posts on a regular basis or with two years’ service in Level-8 of the Pay Matrix.
  • Educational Qualifications and Experience:
    • Pass in Subordinate Accounts Services or equivalent exam with two years’ experience in cash, accounts, and budget work; or
    • Completion of training in cash and accounts with five years’ experience in cash, accounts, and budget work.
  1. Age Limit:
  • Maximum: 56 years as of the closing date of receipt of applications.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Pre-auditing and signing of all types of bills.
  • Monitoring of budget and all reports and returns.
  • Signing of various financial reports and last pay certificates.
  • Liaison with Pay & Accounts Office, Principal Accounts Office, Bank of Maharashtra, other UPSC sections, and PFMS team.
  • Coordination with vendors for income tax returns.
  • Interaction with Ministry of Finance and other departments for fund allocation and audit settlements.
  • Spot payments of TA to candidates and honorarium to advisors.
  • Handling examination advances and adjustment bills.
  • Implementation of tasks assigned by senior officers.
