Educational Qualification & Experience
Candidates may qualify under one of two categories:
Category A
- Educational Qualification:
- Essential: Three-year Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from a State Board of Technical Education.
- Desirable: A post-diploma qualification in Non‑Destructive Testing (NDT) will be considered an added advantage.
- Experience Requirements:
- Total Experience: Minimum of 7 years post‑qualification experience in any of the following:
- Ship Building
- Ship Repair
- Engineering companies
- Offshore platforms
- Marine‑related engineering companies
- Government or Semi‑Government Companies/Establishments
- Supervisory Experience: The last 2 years must have been in a supervisory capacity.
Category B
- Educational Qualification:
- Essential: ITI (NTC) qualification in one of the following trades from the State Board of Technical Education:
- Welding
- Sheet Metal Worker
- Bench Fitter
- Fitter
- Plumber
- Experience Requirements:
- Total Experience: Minimum of 15 years post‑qualification experience in any of the fields as noted above (Ship Building, Ship Repair, Engineering companies, Offshore platforms, Marine‑related engineering companies, or Government/Semi‑Government Companies/Establishments).
- Supervisory Experience: The last 3 years must have been in a supervisory capacity.
