About Airports Authority of India (AAI)
The Airports Authority of India (AAI) is a Schedule ‘A’ Miniratna Category-1 Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Civil Aviation, Government of India. Established on 1st April 1995 through the merger of the erstwhile National Airports Authority and International Airports Authority of India, AAI is entrusted with the responsibility of creating, upgrading, maintaining, and managing civil aviation infrastructure both on the ground and in the airspace across the country.
AAI plays a pivotal role in ensuring safe, secure, and efficient air travel in India. It manages over 100 airports and provides Air Traffic Management (ATM) services over the entire Indian airspace and adjoining oceanic areas. As part of its commitment to skill development and capacity building, AAI regularly engages apprentices under the Apprentices Act, 1961.
Apprenticeship Program Overview
AAI, through its IAU-RCDU Safdarjung Airport, New Delhi, invites applications for Apprenticeship Training Program in RCDU/FIU/CRSD & E&M Workshop and related units. The program is designed to provide practical exposure, hands-on training, and industry experience to graduates and diploma holders in engineering and allied disciplines.
During the apprenticeship period, candidates will be governed by the provisions of the Apprentices Act, 1961 (as amended in 1973 and thereafter), along with AAI’s internal policies and guidelines. The training will be for a duration of one year, after which candidates will receive a certificate of completion.

Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must be Indian nationals.
- Graduates must hold a degree in the relevant discipline from a recognized university.
- Diploma holders must possess a diploma in the relevant field from a recognized institution.
- Candidates must be registered on the NATS Portal.
- Only candidates who have completed their qualification are eligible; those awaiting results cannot apply.
Stipend & Benefits
- Graduate Apprentices: Approx. ₹15,000 – ₹18,000 per month (as per Government norms).
- Diploma Apprentices: Approx. ₹12,000 – ₹15,000 per month (as per Government norms).
- Duration: 1 Year.
- Stipend is inclusive of allowances and will be credited via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
- Apprentices will gain hands-on experience in aviation infrastructure, engineering, and maintenance.
